WorldCause Foundation Proudly Announces The Hiring of its Director of Development/ Grants Writer

Barbara WilsonWorld Cause Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Barbara Wilson, M.S. as Director of Development/Grants. Barbara has extensive senior level executive experience working with universities and nonprofit organizations in all three counties that comprise the South Florida region.

As a result, Barbara has established successful personal relationships with the region's leading corporate, foundation, and individual philanthropists to secure funding for the nonprofit and education sectors. Before being recruited to Lynn University nearly 10 years ago as Director of Annual Fund Programs, Barbara held senior level executive positions in marketing and fundraising for the City of Rochester, Regional Transportation Authority, and University of Rochester.

Barbara's accomplishments include: created and implemented a fund development plan for the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship that included raising more than $650,000 annually in grants from corporations and foundations.

During her tenure with NFTE, she first secured a challenge grant from a major foundation, then masterminded and oversaw a series of fundraising events which successfully secured the match for the grant in less than 6 months, and quadrupled the number of individual donors in the $250-$1000 range. As a result, Barbara led the South Florida NFTE program to be 2nd in fund raising out of 26 national offices including New York City, Chicago, and California.

At the University of Miami, she solicited a $250,000 from a relatively unknown national foundation, and as CEO of Gilda's Club South Florida, she cultivated and solicited the single largest gift in its history, $150,000. She has been a fund development/grants consultant for Spirit of Giving Network and Non Profits First, teaching at their first fund development and sustainability academy.

Barbara has degrees in/from: Political Science from the University of Dayton and a Master of Science in Communication from Lynn University.

WorldCause Foundation would like to congratulate Barbara on her accomplishments and acceptance of Director of Fundraising Development. Additionally, the foundation looks forward to the many future initiatives set forth to carry out its intended mission statement; providing much needed relief to those living in abject poverty both domestically and internationally.
