WorldCause Foundation Visits Kids In Distress and Provides Grant

Kids in Distress

Ft. Lauderdale, FL- WorldCause Foundation is pleased to announce its recent visit and awarding of a grant to KIDS, Kids In Distress of Wilton Manors, FL. KIDS along with six other South Florida organizations were chosen as a grant recipient as a part of WorldCause Foundations local grant initiative.

For over 33 years Kids In Distress has worked diligently in the community to protect and keep children safe. Some of the ways that KIDS accomplishes this includes providing counseling, support and treatment services to children who have been or are at risk of being abused and/or neglected including their families. Through their program service, KIDS is able to reach out to these youth successfully treating and preventing child abuse, ultimately preserving the family.

KID prevention programs are community based, in-home service programs targeting at risk families in need of support. These families need immediate services to reduce family dysfunction, child abuse, and the removal of children from their homes. Additionally these programs provide parent training, advocacy, insurance enrollment, counseling, conflict resolution; employment assistance and 24 hour on call crisis intervention.

The grant provided by WorldCause Foundation will go towards the KidFIRST and Kinship Programs, which are designed to preserve and strengthen the most at risk families, increasing the protective factors necessary to keep children safe and nurtured in their homes.

Mark Dhooge, President of KIDS stated that grants such as WorldCause Foundations help the most vulnerable families through severe economic distress by assisting with rent, utilities, or groceries on a critical short term basis so families do not get evicted, live without power or water or go hungry. As a result of eliminating the crisis related to basic needs a family can function normally without having to constantly worry about these situations.

The grant WorldCause Foundation has provided will help over 20 families with groceries; will keep the lights on for 10 families; or can help keep four families in their homes for an additional month while KIDS helps the family stabilize. Both Robert Preston and Barbara Wilson had the pleasure of visiting KIDS main facilities located in Wilton Manors, Florida. Along with an on-site tour of the new facilities and state of the art dentistry facility, WorldCause Foundation were able to meet some of the amazing bright young children who are currently involved with KIDS, and provided the grant to this great organization.

WorldCause Foundation would like to thank Mark Dhooge, President of KIDS In Distress, along with everyone at the facilities for continuing to provide such tremendous outreach to families in need, and our organization is grateful for the new partnership with KIDS in Distress.
