WorldCause Foundation & Camp Boggy Creek Accept Grant at 2011 Las Vegas, NV SEMA Convention

WorldCause is pleased to share with Camp Boggy Creek $218,000 which was achieved by a major fundraising initiative with Continental Tire and Grand AM as promotional partners. The presentation took place at the 2011 Las Vegas SEMA Convention during the Continental Tire / Grand AM Porsche Dream Giveaway ceremony. Representatives from WorldCause Foundation, Grand-Am Racing, Continental Tires, Dream Giveaways, and the Associated Press were in attendance to witness this fulfilling initiative draw to a conclusion.

Camp Boggy Creek, the charity of choice for Grand Am Racing, is a year-round medical camp for children located in Eustis, Florida and was co-founded by actor/philanthropist Paul Newman and General Norman Schwarzkopf. The camp serves as a location where children with various medical illnesses can let loose and truly enjoy themselves in a camp environment among other children their age.

Along with providing numerous fun filled activities for the children, the camp also has medical staff on hand who work at the on-site medical facility which provides treatment for the children. This on-site facility allows the children to complete their treatments and get right back to the camp activities without missing a beat.

These funds that will be split between the two charities will help them both fulfill their respective missions. WorldCause Foundation's portion of the grant will be used to begin new philanthropic initiatives on a domestic and international scale, providing the charity the opportunity to carry out its intended mission statement. Camp Boggy Creek plans on directing their portion towards the children, the camp location itself along with the medical facility. Boggy Creek Vice President Sarah Gurtis stated that the grant provides a wonderful opportunity in allowing the camp to continue to enrich the lives of critically ill children.
